For nearly 6 years, I have been collaborating with the Victoria State Emergency Services (VicSES), working on the issue of disaster risk reduction (DRR) in Victoria, Australia. Broadly, my focus has been on the issue of ‘community engagement’, with academic interest in behaviour change, governance, and wider questions of state-society relations. Like community engagement itself, CEDRR has ebbed and flowed with interest, capacity, and patience amongst all the contributors and partners.
There have been a few case studies undertaken over the past couple years, which has brought us to a recent analysis of volunteers’ friendship networks, which we are using as a sampling method during the Covid-10 pandemic to undertake and entirely online version of community engagement.
For anyone interested, please complete a CEDRR survey here.
